When I saw these 3 in the Luna Eclipsed episode I knew I had to do something with them and what better than a 1930-40's era Sci-Fi like Flash Gordon or Buck Rogers.



Really happy with this one, the poses and expressions turned out better than I hoped and the basic background I was going to do just got better and better as I went along. My favorite of this piece for me has got to be Pluto's expression.

On the technical side I really derped. I was wondering why all my pics come out over-saturated even though they look fine in Photoshop. Turns out I've actually been doing everything in CMYK not RGB. Seems like the only real way I could fix the stuff I've already done in a reasonable time frame is to imbed a color profile into a jpg, so you get the correct colors now but a lower quality image, sorry.

Thanks! :) Not many people seem to like this one, almost never gets any favorites, which is a pity, out of all the things I did when I was vectoring this was my favorite. I suppose the fact that the colors are a bit wrong doesn't help. :shrug:

This is fantastic! I feel like you need a write friend to make this into a real story... I love 30's sci fi so much. You have no concept of how much I've read! :D

Actually, if no one else is doing this yet... You wouldn't mind if I borrowed completely ripped off this idea, would you?

And now, as a break from the mud slinging of no originality and other said unpleasantries, I leave my comment.

I love this image and the allusions it contains make it! I found it immensly entertaining to find The Dertateer in the background. The background on the whole has so much detail that it is tragic that most people won't take to time to look at it. Such attention of detail must have been very time consuming and difficult. This is truly a credit as to why I joined the pony fandom, your ability to use the fun ergonomic lines and simple color schemes to convey so much is breathtaking.

Thank you for your generous comments, its nice to know that people appreciate how much work actually went into the background. Backgrounds like this is also why a lot of my art takes ages to make, so unfortunately in an effort to speed things up, backgrounds like this will be a bit rarer in the future.

Also good catch on identifying the background pony, I was wondering how many people would be able to figure it out. :)
